Two years after the fall of Morsi, Egyptian returning to the polls

Election posters flooded the streets of Giza and all the cities of Egypt.

The country without a parliament since three years, organizes its first legislative elections since the overthrow of Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.
Half of voters called to the polls this Sunday, the other half will be convened on 22 and 23 November.
The opposition, suppressed for two years, is virtually absent from the ballot (the Muslim Brotherhood was banned) and the vast majority of candidates is gained to the cause of president al-Sissi.
Saturday, the former army chief called for "strong participation", while expatriates began to vote.
The new parliament, composed of 596 deputies, should function as a rubber stamp for decisions of President al-Sissi.
According Amnesty International, between 16 000 and 40 000 have been arbitrarily imprisoned in Egypt since taking office.
