The Russian military denied having conducted bombing against IS in Palmyra

It's the Syrian state television, quoted a military source, who announced that Russia had conducted bombing the positions of the Islamic State group in and around Palmyra.

"All informations foreign media suggesting that Russian planes have allegedly launched air raids on the city of Palmyra are completely false," said Tuesday the spokesman of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"Our aviation in Syria doesn't target populated areas, and even more so when it's of architecturals  monuments," he added.
