PlayStation and Xbox victim of a cyber attack

The online services of game consoles PlayStation (Sony) and Xbox (Microsoft), very busy at this time of Christmas, was the target of a cyber attack that made them largely inaccessible in the world. The offline these networks began on thursday, christmas day when many players have unwrapped their new console and therefore tried to login to the server for the first time. Friday afternoon, the services of the Xbox were almost all recovered, with only three applications were still disrupted, according to the website dedicated to this game console. But side of PlayStation, it always thanked the players for their "patience", you explaining that technicians were working to identify and fix the problem "as soon as possible".
The attack came a day after the decision of Sony and Microsoft to broadcast on PlayStation and Xbox Video (an as yet undetermined date) "The Interview", parody comedy Sony Studios on assassination attempt orchestrated by the CIA north-korean leader Kim Jong-Un. There is one month, Sony was the subject of a massive cyber attack that the FBI has awarded North Korea, considering Piongyang was hostile to the film. (To know more about this article, click here).
However, no link has been formally established between the two cases. In the case of the attack on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, a Twitter user under the nickname Lizard Squad, said to be the author. The nickname is the same as that of a group of hackers who threatened Sony in the past, but the authenticity of the account is difficult to verify. The group briefly disrupted the PlayStation Network on december 8 and threatened new attacks sizes aigainst Xbox Live on Christmas.
The inability to connect several problems for users: unable to update the operating system patches to download patches or buy games dematerialized (don't ask me, I don't know what it is). And especially impossible to play online with distant opponents.
