"The labeling of products of the Jewish state awaken dark memories"

Netanyahu doesn't mince his words. The Israeli prime minister said Wednesday, November 11 that "the EU should be ashamed" after the green light given by the European Commission for the labeling of products from Israeli settlements in the Occupied Territories.
"The labeling of products of the Jewish state by the European Union wake of dark memories. Europe should be ashamed," said the head of government of the Jewish state doesn't hesitate to evoke the Nazi past. "While there are hundreds of territorials disputes around the world, (EU) decided to attack only to Israel, while Israel fights back against the wall against a wave of terrorism" also said the Prime Minister, currently in the United States.
In September already, the Prime Minister had made the parallel between the future European labeling and practices of the Nazi regime against Jews products.
Other members of his government have had the same reaction. "It's a discriminatory policy" denounced Tuesday the Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz. "We all remember the days when Jews were marked as such products in Europe," he said, referring to Nazi Germany.
To signify their wrath, Israeli Foreign Affairs summoned the EU representative in Israel, Lars Faaborg-Andersen. The measure "could impact on relations between Israel and the European Union," said the spokesman of Foreign Affairs Emmanuel Nahshon in a statement.

The announcement of the European Commission was expected. Despite assurances from the Commission that the decision is purely technical to the attention of the consumer and does not depend on the boycott or sanction, it has attracted a wide condemnation in Israel, including the leader of the Labour party Isaac Herzog.
Herzog judged labeling "dangerous": "It will hurt to the same extent to the Israelis and Palestinians," he said.
Netanyahu and Herzog have advanced the same argument that the measure would complicate the search for peace with the Palestinians.
The label has been likened by some to an act of boycott. Netanyahu, Herzog and others have also meant to Europeans that this approach might turn against 26,000 Palestinians, according to Israeli official figures, earn their living in the colonies.
The Israeli economy "is strong enough to absorb this. These are the Palestinian workers and Israeli companies in Judea and Samaria (Israeli appellation the occupied West Bank) that will be achieved," said Netanyahu
